Well May has come and gone in a whirlwind !! As month’s go, this was one of the busiest but also one of the best. Here is just some of what we got up to......
Awards Winner !!
On Friday 23rd May at the Network Ireland West Cork Businesswoman of the Year awards 2025 I was named the West Cork branch winner in the Networker of the Year category!
To win the Networker category is not something I’ve done alone. So many people have played a part in this award. From meeting and events – in person and online, social media connections, coffee (or Tea) catch ups to dinner and drinks. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me on this journey. I am so grateful for the connections and confidence that Network Ireland has given me and I am honoured to represent our small but mighty West Cork branch at the national awards later this year.

Celebrations
May was a month full of celebrations ! On a personal note, we celebrated a family wedding and my Dad’s 90th birthday. As a life long mentor to me, I am deeply indebted to my Dad for his influence on my career and life decisions and as a family we are truly blessed to be able to celebrate this milestone.

But it’s not all fun, games and social outings. I want to give a big shout out to my side kick Ellen Daly. Since joining Maybury Marketing, she’s been a fantastic asset. Behind the scenes, Ellen and I have been busy working on exciting projects for our clients across various sectors, including hospitality, retail, agriculture and services. From designing websites and promotional materials to crafting reports and creating engaging social media content, we’ve had our creative hats firmly on. We make a great team, if I do say so myself !!

The last few weeks I’ve been working closely with the team at Lisavaird Co-Op in the publishing of their Annual Report and a commemorative booklet to celebrate the Co-Op’s 100 year history. Alot of hours went into these publications but it was a pleasure to play a part in Lisavaird Co-Op’s annual report and organising their AGM. I'm pictured below with Denis McSweeney, Group Project Accountant at Lisavaird Co-Op.

Alongside project work, I’ve continued my mentoring with clients through the Local Enterprise Office and InterTrade Ireland. I was delighted to accept an invitation from Women in Business Northern Ireland and Network Ireland to attend SparkFest at Dogpatch Labs in Dublin. The speakers were incredible and it was so lovely to meet the Grow It and Spark It programme participants and to catch up with my Network Ireland colleagues, Emma, Linda, Michelle, Suzanne and Nadine.

Looking Ahead
We’re excited to share that we will be working with Cork County Council and The Arts Council on the marketing plans for Culture Night, September 2025. Watch this space. More to come!

More exciting plans. Eimear and Brigeen of Match Marketing and myself and Ellen of Maybury Marketing are planning something really special for this Autumn, I can’t reveal too much yet but I’m super excited about this partnership. This is a perfect example of collaboration and networking at its best.

The best is yet to come!
5th June marks a big milestone in my career. Its 20 years since I embarked on a journey of self-employment. Some people may have thought I was mad to leave a full time job to set out on my own venture but I can safely safe, 20 years on….. I have regrets. We have great plans to celebrate this anniversary, including the launch of the ‘Maybury Method’. Keep an eye on our socials for more details.
As always, I’d like to sincerely thank all those who have support me, Ellen and Maybury Marketing. Special thanks to our clients for trusting us, we are loving the projects that are coming our way.
